I bought my first corvette in 1964, a ratty 1960 and installed a 365 H.P. crate motor. That car didn’t make it past the rider portion of it’s insurance policy. The motor was then installed in a 1963 convertible (stripper) from Chicago, but when the fed’s came to check its VIN numbers, it was immediately traded in for a 1966 and attended the first WSCC convention in Golden Colorado. Over the next years there was constantly a corvette in my life. In 1978 I met my beautiful wife Bernie and introduced her to corvetting, and we all know how that worked out. Being one of the founders of Discovery Bay Corvettes our years of car showing, auto-crossing , gimmick rallies, and just having fun has been easy to do. 1997 was our busiest year, I was commodore of the yacht club and Bernie was president of the corvette club. At end of year awards we took first place in car show, autocross and gimmick rally. It doesn’t get any more dedicated than that.
