I’ve been a gearhead since I was a boy. The first thing I hot-rodded was the family lawn mower, with a chrome exhaust tip for a velocity stack and replacing the muffler with a piece of straight pipe. I used to enjoy going to the Grand National Roadster Show when it was held at the Oakland Coliseum. I also got interested in boats & water sking when I was a teenager, and have owned at least one boat since age 17. Each boat was faster than the last, and it got to the point where I was blowing up multiple engines in a season, so I got a family boat. I promised to leave it stock and get a Corvette to fill the need for speed. I used to see Corvette groups out on a run and told Denise that one day “we are going to do that”.First thing I did when we moved to Discovery Bay was find out when the next Corvette club meeting was being held so we could attend and get a membership application. I’ve really enjoyed the whole Corvette experience, the runs, and the car shows, but more recently I got more into pushing the car for what it was intended, autocross & track events.
